hull construction between bilge and bottom of hull

Noticed that keel had slight movement. Upon tighening keel bolts, material underneath was soft, and washers bent downward.Material underneath appears to be softBoat yard suspects wood was used in this area, and it has rotted out.Does anyone know what was used in this area as filler under the keel bolts?Has anyone repaired this problem? 27 ft Catalina, built 1984Ed Cox eec40@yahoo.com

Best to call Catalina

They probably used plywood for a core material and it's probably rotted. A friend of mine had the same problem with his C25 and Catalina had a repair procedure for this.
