hull and deck construction

Thinking for purchasing a 77 27'. I can't find any detailed information on the construction. Especially the use of core materials and where they are.
In addition, if anyone has knowledge of the good and bad, feel free to let me know before I bite off too much.
Currently I will need to repair deck rot around the chain plates as well as replace the entire bulkhead (due to rot).
