An earlier article mentioned the ability to do a software upgrade from HSB to HSB2. What is the procedure for the RL70CRC? Do I need to order this from Raymarine? Is there some place locally (Seattle) to have it done? Is there a charge for upgrading? What about HSB models purchased recently? Thanks

The technician that works on it will give you a call. They will most likely be able to repair it as long as the instrument housing is in good shape. Take a look in this forum for instructions on how to replace an ST50 with an ST60. The wiring is simple. The only problem is the appearance of the nice new grey instrument in line with the old ST50 black. A ‘Software Upgrade’ is only suitable for systems where there are no more than TWO display units connected via HSB. Examples of systems where a software upgrade are appropriate are: - ONE or TWO station HSB system requiring the extra HSB2 Software features - System where an existing HSB display unit is to be connected to a HSB2 display unit Current Pathfinder products (see below table) when connected in an HSB system containing two or fewer displays can be upgraded to Pathfinder Plus via a software upgrade kit. What about HSB for RayTech?
Bill, What is the status of HSB or HSB2 support in the RayTech package. Some of the release materials for the 3.0 upgrade suggest HSB ability, but I think it was an oops. I "assume" some interface box will be neccessary? Inquiring minds want to know. BTW, what is needed to do the software upgrade? I don't have a second station, but I would like some of the other features for my RC530 and maybe use the RayTech as a second HSB station when it works (I Have SeaTalk in and NEMA out now via the Interface box and LOVE it!).

Two things.... How does one find our if they have HSB2? I just (last month) bought a boat with a 530 as an add-on and would like to know if it is the 530 version HSB2 already. If not, what is the link for the software only upgrade? I looked around and could not find it.... Still waiting on an answer for the RayTech question as well
