I have a 1977 Catalina 22 and the insurance company is asking for the "maximum HP Hull Plate rating" Does anyone know where to find this or what the number is? Thanks.

displacement hull
There isn't one! The C-22 is not a planing hull it’s a displacement hull, it's only going to be pushed about 6 knots regardless of the hp motor you put on it. Sounds like your agent doesn't know much about sailboats. That said Catalina recommend’s 4-5 hp for the C-22. I would try to help the agent understand the difference between the planing hull (with a hp plate) and the displacement hull that doesn't have one. good luck.
