We have been having some unusual weather in the Gulf coast of Florida. We had rain for 14 days in a row and some strong storms. But today, it was beautiful, west winds at 10-15 knots in the bay. The water was choppy, not from the wind but from the Sunday effect (powerboat chop) but it felt good sliding at 6 knots on a broad reach down the Bay. For some reason could not achieve a perfect "hove to" to have lunch but rolled in the head sail and tightened the vang on the main and let the sheet loose and was able to have a good lunch. Had a friend call me from Spain and the first words out of his mouth were "did you get out today" and my answer was, "sure did".
