We have been having some unusual weather in the Gulf coast of Florida. We had rain for 14 days in a row and some strong storms. But today, it was beautiful, west winds at 10-15 knots in the bay. The water was choppy, not from the wind but from the Sunday effect (powerboat chop) but it felt good sliding at 6 knots on a broad reach down the Bay. For some reason could not achieve a perfect "hove to" to have lunch but rolled in the head sail and tightened the vang on the main and let the sheet loose and was able to have a good lunch. Had a friend call me from Spain and the first words out of his mouth were "did you get out today" and my answer was, "sure did".

Weird weather pattern in the Ozarks too. Usually we get a west to east transition. Whatever OKC gets it heads our way moving west to east. Last weekend we had an East to West weather pattern from FLORIDA! Rain almost all of Memorial Day Weekend. But yesterday and today...oh WOW. I don't know where it came from but cool steady wind. And absolute dandy of a weekend for sailing. Benny, If THAT came from you Send More!
