How to thread topping lift to boom

I have a 1992 H23 fixed keel. Have a topping lift problem! My Pilot line came out of the boom so I have to start from scratch. I was thinking of using a heavy gauge copper wire (10-12 GA) , threading it through the boom then attaching the topping lift and pulling the TL through. Do all of the lines running through the boom have separate channels? Or are there just roll over different sheaves? My concern is that using a wire, I could wrap around another line inside the boom. Suggestions appreciated. Gary

My 89 H23 has a ZSpar ( http://www.ussparsinc.com/booms.htm ) boom. It's one big wide open tube with separate sheaves. You should have no trouble using a piece of stiff wire. If you disconnect the boom at the gooseneck, you can probably just drop the TL right through. Alternatively, you may have a Kenyon boom ( http://www.rigrite.com/kenyon/KENYON.html#Boom Sections ). It looks to be the same configuration.
