Hi, I'm trying to straighten a CDI FF-2 firler luff that has been stored for a LONG time in a 4 ft coil...I just bought it used, downloaded a manual on line. It's been 3 weeks since I laid it out in the backyard..it still has bends in it... how do you do it? Any info is appreciated! alexderiy@yahoo.com

I had a similar

experience. Mine only looped once. I laid it out all winter in my basement and the smaller "waves" never straightened out until I rigged it. Once it was up and under tension it seemed to be ok. I've had no problems with it all summer. It's still not perfect but as long as it works well I don't care.

How about a reverse coiling for a few days??

That might just take some of the set out of it.

PVC Pipe

Try putting it inside rigid pvc pipe . I've done 2 CDI's and had good luck with this method using Grey PVC Electrical conduit (Home Depot). You need to find the smallest size pipe it will fit into.(Cut off a short piece to check size)Slide it into the pipe and leave it is the sun. I put caps on the ends of the pipe to keep in as much heat as possible. If you end up with white pipe spray the outside with black paint.
