I am looking for some advice on running my radar cable through the base of my zspar mast. I have a small access point on the port side of my mast and a small access point from the post in the cabin that is under the mast. There are already some wires that run up the mast (radio and lights wires). I do not think that there is enough room in the existing hole where those wires run for my radar cable. I can not visualize how to drill another access point at the base of the mast for the radar cable.... any ideas?

drilling is daring

If you decide to drill instead of unstep the mast be very careful. Im not sure if your model has the wood (2x4) compression post or not. If so, you do not want leaking as it will rot your post and your deck will sag and shrouds will get loose, etc, etc. Use 3M 5200 and don't be stingy. Another tip, always rough up wires with 100 grit sand paper and wipe with denatured alchohol before gooping with caulk around holes in deck. This gives the sealant something to grip and will last much longer.
