I have a 1984 C-22. The fuel tank for the outboard is located in the port lazerette. In order to get fuel to the outboard I have to run the fuel line out of the locker and over the side. The problem is that the locker does not make an allouance for this. That means that the fuel line is pinched in the opening of the locker. If you were to sit on that lazerette (which is a geat place to sit while steering) it will completely pinch off the fuel supply. I was thinking of cutting a hole in the lid of the side of the lazerette or running the fuel line out through the transom and covering it with a cowel vent cover to keep water out. Has anyone out there come up with a good solution to this problem? I would love to know about it nad see some pictures! Art <)))><

Fuel Line

Mine had a cutout in the lower aft corner of the lid that allowed the hose to exit the locker with the lid closed. It also served as a drain for rainwater that may have collected in the locker. However, my C22 was a later model. Maybe that was something they learned later.

Fuel Line Route

My C25 has a thru-hull mounted on the transom just under then rub rail, through which both the fuel line and alternator wire pass. It is probably the simplest was to go and it keep the fuel line out of the cockpit.

Fuel line

My 1982 C22 has the same setup Don is talking about, a through hull with a rubber bellows type boot to keep the water out. The fuel line alternator wire and wires for my depth sounder and speed indicator all pass through it. Works great and the fuel line and wires don't get pinched and no water gets in. It is similer to the boot power boats use to run there steering cable and motor control cables through.
