How to replace centerboard rope on H22

I'm hoping someone here knows how to replace the centerboard rope on a H22. I got a manual from Hunter which shows a diagram of the centerboard rope but I have no clue what's involved in replacing it. Seems like the centerboard needs to be removed but how? Your help is greatly appreciated. Pete

lift the boat

Pete, The boat needs to be lifted off of the keel and the keel will swing down and expose the padeye, which the rope is tied to. You can either do this when the boat is in the water or find a way to lift the boat.

Ron, Thanks for the info. Is centerboard only secured by the rope or is there some sort of stop that keeps it from falling through? Pete

removal of centerboard

I had to drop the centerboard to get to the padeye, the setup on mine was rope - if you search the archives there's info there on how to drop the centerboard

This is more than a centerboard we are talking it is the retracable keel..Lots of weight...

this is an H22

It has a foam-cell type centerboard that weighs about 90 lbs; I had to replace mine so it's first-hand knowledge
