I’m taking apart my Whitlock Cobra (4?) pedestal. The last thing holding the top plate on is the handle for the fuel cut-off cable. Is there a way to remove the handle only, or do I have to disconnect and remove the whole cable?

Looks like there is a nut below the cable signifying the shaft is threaded. Loosen the nut and the handle should just screw off..

I recently installed a Teleflex stop cable :
............... and that's exactly what I found. Note that the control end has a gland on it with an "O" ring to keep water out of the cable. Give it a touch of non-petroleum grease on the shaft every few years.
