My Hunter 33 has a gennaker and I would put a spinnaker pole, but nothing is planned on the mat to hold the pole.
Thank you for your answers

Michel, you generally do not use a pole with a gennaker. The tack gets installed on a tack-line set up in front of the head-stay. A lot of us use the anchor roller for an attachment point. If indeed you want to use a pole you should consider a light telescopic pole. As for the attachment on the mast, you can install that yourself. An eyelet or better yet a track with an adjustable is easily installed in front of the mast and will do the job. If you do use a regular spinnaker pole, besides the attachment on the mast you will also need to look into a pole topping-lift and a down-haul. The store on this site can probably help you locate all of that.

A telescopic pole is fine for holding the CLEW of a sail out and away from the boat.

If you are trying to hold out the TACK, you need a much stronger pole. A telescopic pole will likely get crushed at some point.

If it is your goal to figure out how to attach a spin pole to your mast, here is a good place to start.

You make a good point about topping lift and down haul for pole. I was thinking of adding a spin halyard now I think you just talked me put of it. I've never opened the bag to even look at the chute perhaps that's where I need to start.

Do check it and if in good condition you'd probably enjoy flying it. I sail single handed and use my gennaker every chance I get as it is fairly easy to set and you do not need to pole it !
