How to heat?

Fall is coming and with it some chilly sailing on the Great Lakes. I found several postings in the archives regarding expensive diesel heaters. What do the new Hunters use for heat? Do the reverse-cycle units like MarineAir work? Can they be used away from the dock or is their amp draw too high? Or have you found an inexpensive way to heat the boat? And not the clay pots over the stove burners, I have a refrig where the stove used to be.:)

the heat is on

I use a ceramic space heater. Of course, this only works when on shore power since I don't have an inverter. But it warms up the cabin nicely.

Some heat

For the not-so-cold nights, we light our lanterns (2). We use Ultra-Pure lamp oil (no smoke or smell). This provides enough heat to warm the cabin and then blow them out when we go to bed - that's when the quilt comes in. We also use the lantern to get rid of dampness in the cabin on rainy/foggy days.
