How to fix a through-hull, well, hole...

I'm getting ready to remove an old paddle-wheel from my transom (likely a knotmeter one). The PO attached it by screwing 4 wood screws through the transom. What's the best way to fix those small-diameter holes? They are above water line, but not by much. I'm thinking a simple knead-able 2-part epoxy. Anybody has any better ideas?

And an off the wall bonus question - I'm ready to attach a GoPro camera on my son's helmet. The old mount is made of flexible plastic and was attached with a permanent mounting tape that lasted exactly 2 days of skiing. I'd like to use the same epoxy I used for the fiberglass work on the boat. Will it work?

Epoxy will definitely work on the helmet and so will finishing polyester resin.

Finishing polyester resin mixed with cab o sil for the transom screw holes. You can also insert wooden plugs dipped in resin and cover with gelcoat.

There are many techniques of tackling the screw holes, depends on how much effort you want to put in.

Epoxy is also am option for screw holes but not my choice.

That was my first choice, as I worked with Marine Tex before. There is also another resin that does not require a hardener. Or, rather, it has the hardener of the same consistency as the resin (and both have similar consistency with theTex). However, Picflight gave me some food for thoughts with his ideas...:neutral:

Ditto, a couple SS bolts and you would be good to go especially since it is not under water, but since you said "wood screws" do they actually go all the way through to the interior of the boat? If not then substitute SS screws and a washer and the 5200 or 4000 or 4200 for the bolts,

Thought about it, but discarded it for the aesthetical reasons. Whatever that means.

Don't use the suction cup mount on the boat. Davey Jones has a camera, suction cup mount of mine...
What ever you go with tether it to the boat!
For my daughters helmet I use a strap mount going through the holes in the top. It works well.
We just got back form a week of tobogganing and snow shoeing in Tremblant. We all had a blast!

I tried the strap thingy on my son's helmet, but it did not work. The epoxy did work well even though I screwed it up (the mount wasn't flat, so only 1/3 of it got epoxied, but it held). The camera (cheap Emerson- no image stabilization, but I downloaded a free software for it), has a "bike" mount , which can be mounted to the rail (alas, x-boat has no rail). Maybe I should epoxy the mount to the boat also...
