My yard says it will take six hours (1) to install one tank guage for the holding tank. Can someone tell me the best way to snake the line back to the electric panel on a 295. Hunter? Thanks.
Electricians use a coiled wire called a fish tape. Available at Home Depot and others. Works the best in housing and industrial problems. I used one on my 28.5 pedistal and reduced the work time from an hour without it on a project to less than a half an hour on the next, similar application.
There is a pvc conduit (2"?)that runs from the starboard corner cockpit locker to a few inches short of the chainplate access panel. Lots of room for additional wiring. Remove the electrical panel carefully AFTER disconnecting the shore power and DC power. You will see wiring leading into a blue electrical conduit that runs in the ceiling rib to the chainplate. There is some room left for addition wiring, but not a lot. Look at the same location on the port side and you will see another blue conduit leading to the port chainplate. Lots of room here and Hunter has provided sveral colored messenger lines to make the job easier. I was unable to locate a pvc conduit on the port side and had to run wiring through the galley upper storage cabinets to the port cockpit locker. Should be a one hour job. Hope this helps.
