Chris: Yes, We used to spray water in the carbs to blast the carbon off the piston domes. I was taught a lot of this stuff by one of the foremost flat track tuners in America(G. Faunce). Chief

Thanks to those of you that PM'd me with offers and suggestions for my rough running Nissan 3.5Hp kicker. I fixed it with a carb "mini" tear down (bowl-float-main eductor jet only), cleaned with Sea Foam, compressed air blow down as suggested by many above.

I can't explain the 1-for-1 swapout result from last year. Working like a proverbial 'champ' now.

I did the same as SeaTR. Pulled the carb, soaked in Seafoam, blew out the ports with the blowgun, and presto: idling like a champ.

Thanks for the insights everyone. This BS of mandating the use of ethanol in gas is lining the pockets of big corporate farms at our expense. My advice is to be sure to close your tank vents. I left the vent open one winter and took ounces of water out of the tank of my 4hp Suzuki. I had to remove the tank and invert it as the exit tube projects about a half inch from the bottom, probably to avoid sucking gunk settled there.
