I have your book, great. How do I avoid losing fluids when I change my hoses on a Groco manual head?

Get a bucket

It ain't pretty, but you'll feel good about gettin' 're done. Get a paint bucket (or several), a bunch of rags, and pull those hoses. It'll never be a fun job, but you'll feel pretty good about replacing all those hoses when it's done. Best, Trevor

First, make sure the fluids are just water...

Disconnect the head intake hose from the thru-hull and pump several buckets of clean fresh water through the whole system. A quart of vinegar added to the last bucketful will help a lot. Disconnect the highest hose connections first...put plugs in the ends. Put a garbage bag or a disposable aluminum pan (where one will fit) under the other end of each hose to catch the spills. Hoses will come off the fittings a lot easier if you warm 'em with a blow dryer first.

Got it, thanks

Understand. I'd like to invite Trevor over to do this. If it makes him feel so good, this'll make him ecstatic....:) Steve
