Our scout (Sea Scouts -- "Yes, in Boulder!) troop has acquired a Daysailer. Is it possible to determine the year of manufacture from the boat hull number or the "Class" number? BHN/1987X. Class# 3661. 1961 perhaps? <ives@spot.colorado.edu>
Since no one has responded to this simple request, guess I'll jump in with what I understand to be the way to date hulls. Look at the last two digits of a string of letters and numbers moulded into the transom. That will be the year the boat was made. As I understand it, before a certain year (?) this is not so.
