Would it take to REALLY make things interesting? This past saturday I was out in my 23 in the northern Chesapeake (centerboard all the way down), in the afternoon the wind was great for a few hours. At aroud 530-6p it got VERY gusty all of the sudden. So much so, that my boat got damn near heeled with the mast horizontal at one point. Depowered the main immmediatly and the jib was pushing me hard as well while I was getting organized to douse it. I'm not sure what the gusts were at that time--but the motor went on and I headed in.... Just as suddenly as it came up, the wind died again about 1-1.5 hours later. Was anyone else out in the Chesapeake on saturday?
