How much to pump.

Peggy, Confession time! I have never used a Marine Head. I have read your articles on flushing and care of the beast but I have one question. You mention in "Flushing 101" to pump until the contents of the bowl reach the tank. How can you tell when it reaches the tank? Thanks again, Mike I. (rookie flusher) C-30 Faith

Requires doing a little homework

One person in the head pumping and counting strokes...the other at the tank to listen for the sound of incoming splashing and yell "it's here!" Do it 3 or 4 times to get the maximum number of pumps...then always flush the head that many times.
