I have a Johnson Lever under the forestay. Followed after Sumner's example somewhat. I have the original forestay, not upgraded to thicker wire.
So the question I have, somewhat directed toward Sumner, but also open to anyone else to whom this applies, is how much "twisty" play is there in the linkage of the Johnson Lever connections? With the original setup, there was only one connection, only one pin. Not too much slop in that one connection.
Now, with the Johnson Lever, the whole furler drum twists a lot when I try to furl or unfurl the headsail.
So, thru what angle of twist is it acceptable? Should i drill out the chainplate and go up to a larger pin or something?
