I am a new boat owner and my 1994 Hunter 26 needs new lines. I want to start out this new season with all new lines for my sailboat but I don't know how much line and what different sizes that I will need. If someone can post this info I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Here You Go

From the Owners Manual

Main Halyard 5/16" 81'
Jib Halyard 5/16" 72'
Main Sheet 3/8" 70'
Jib Sheets 3/8 50'
Topping Lift 1/4 35'
Vang 1/4" 20'
Outhaul 1/4" 22'
Reef 5/16" 26'
Rudder uphaul 3/8" 10'
C/B Uphaul 7/16" 11'

That should be enough to get you going

Re: Here You Go

Thanks for the info. I bought the boat used and I didn't get any books or details. This is great. THanks again

Look at What You Have First

If you have a furler on the jib you may want the sheets longer. On the C/B Cascade and on the Jib Sheets I'd probably go with 7/16 line instead of the 3/8 just because it is easier on the hands than the thinner stuff especially on the centerboard cascade.

An old trick is to get the line a couple of feet longer and then when it starts to wear you shorten the line which moves the wear points and gives you alot more use out of it

Rick brings up a good point. I forgot to account for the furler when I ordered new lines. Its tight when furling the jib. FWIW, the lines I got from the store here at HunterOwners have been great otherwise.

Rick Webb;

Long time but good going on the line size of the cascade or center board as 1/2 inch line is a tad too big. YOu are very much correct on the 7/16 line for the centerboard.,
Take care sir.
