How much gas per hour--Honda 9.9 4-stroke?

Has anybody every measured how much gas a Honda (year: 2000) 9.9hp 4 stroke outboard uses? Mine is on a Hunter 240. I am just looking for some rough numbers at half throttle. Thanks!

lots of variables with this question, but I get approximately .80 gph burn on my 9.9... Thats at about 2/3 throttle with a 5" pitch prop (not the standard power thrust prop). This gives a 5 knot cruising speed on my 27' - which i'm sure displaces a lot more than the 240. If I had to guess you probably would get 1/2 gph on your 240 at 1/2 throttle with the factory prop.

We use just over 1/2 gph on our h26 @ about half throttle. But that is in a lake with no currents etc

Thanks much for the replies. That should give me plenty of range with a 6½ gallon tank.

With a 6 1/2 gallon tank you could motor to Milwaukee if needed.
