got wet it took them forever to dry and they were a heavy soggy mess until they did.
I think that is probably why I’m not even sure where my cockpit cushions are. Fibkroxie, another Wow.. that really looks nice.

Maybe not so important to the OP but one thing Sumner did was to leave room for the traveler. I recently got to sail on a deeper keel boat and it really stiffens up as the boat heeled over since it is in effect trying to lift that heavy keel (maybe the Mac 25 is more like that). The water ballast boat doesn’t stiffen up nearly as much when it gets way heeled over and that is where I end up really relying on (and liking) the traveler.

Just to put it in perspective, I replaced my interior foam only (reused the covers). I bought some 4" marine foam (enough for a V-berth), and bought the rest (also 4" green foam) from Michael's at 50% off. The total was $440. That's foam only, and it did not include cockpit cushions.

I'm thinkin the foam place that Sumner posted about must be a pretty awesome deal then. I just priced out enough standard LUX to do the entire interior, and enough dry fast for the cockpit, and it was only $250

They are good and for us it is also the free freight since we are so remote. The 'no sales tax' also helps ;). What thickness did you decide on?

OK, just got the quote back from the place that'll probably be doing my cushions. They normally manufacturer seats for off-road vehicles, but I've worked with them for a long time and they said they'd be willing to do these custom for me. I'm going to order the foam and cut it to shape myself, and they are going to do all the covers for me. Interior will be marine vinyl on the bottoms, with ballistic nylon on the tops and around the sides, cockpit cushions will be vinyl on all surfaces. Gonna go with the 3" lux for the interior cushions and 2" dry fast for the cockpit, from the place Sumner linked.

Foam works out to be about $250 and material and labor for the upholstery is gonna be about $900. Seems pretty reasonable to me after looking at what a lot of people have paid for other things.

Just thought I would mention the following. It seemed that the prices of Sunbrella had really increased at Sailrite. Well actually they are about the same as before. They now have to show the suggested retail price when you view the fabric. Once you enter it into your cart it goes down about 25%. So the fabric we were using, marine 60 inch wide, that looks like it went to 24.95 a yard is still about $18 a yard once it is in the cart,

Sounds like a good price to me, especially since they are providing the fabric. It's a LOT of work and best left to the professionals if you don't have the skills, time, or desire. Be sure to post some pictures.

Finally getting back around to this with an update. I ended up ordering the foam not too long after that last post, but I got busy with life and didn't get around to cutting it all up until recently. I dropped everything off about 3 weeks ago to get covered and picked it up yesterday. As I said, the place doing this for me mostly makes seats for Jeeps, so custom stuff might take a little longer than normal. I dont really know what a normal time frame is, but I was very happy with it.

The interior cushions are all done in Cordura, with marine vinyl on the bottoms. The cockpit cushions are all marine vinyl. I'm really happy with how they came out. Best part is the price ended up being quite a bit lower than what they quoted me. I have done a lot of work with this place in the past though, so I wont post exactly what they charged since I think I got a pretty good discount because of that.

If anyone is interested, http://www.prpseats.com/ is their web site, and they are in Temecula, CA. They dont specialize in boats, but they are usually willing to do whatever you ask. If you do call them ask for Aaron and tell him you saw the cushions they did for Dallas. I dont get anything from this, but he's the one I always deal with, and is more used to oddball requests.

Less, by a significant amount. The total including foam wasn't much more than that number.
