Being 6'7", I can find places on the boat nobody else even comes close to hitting. Working on the engine is a particularly awkward place. Either hitting the top of the hatch area or else the quarter berth ceiling.
I'm usually the only one on any boat that hits their head on the boom when exiting the companionway hatch, assuming somebody else didn't already leave the hatch only halfway open. A baseball cap isn't much help either!

Usually walk into the end of the boom. Mostly due to not being able to see it through the brim of my hat.
I wear a full brim hat, wanting to be dutifull and protect my skin from the sun. Meanwhile I'm slowly bashing my brains in.

i am sitting here wondering how many have been nailed by the boom...... hope i am not hijacking this thread....as for me and the boom....not yet...as for every other thing in the boat...... at lest once on everything
