One thing that the Macgregor 26X can do that most other small sailboats do is go fast -- under engine power. How fast can you go in your Mac? You might also mention your engine and prop specs. (and I don't mean on the highway!)
I have a 25HP 2 stroke and it pushs my 26X at between 13.8 and 14.2 MPH by the GPS on a smooth lake with no wind. I am quite happy with that speed since I saved over $4000.00 in not getting the 50HP engine.
