How far can a C350 go?

C350 was the recent replacement for C36. They are both coastal cruisers. There is no limit as to how far you can go. You will have to stop somewhere along the way to fuel up and load up on groceries or perform repairs. I have heard of C36-ers go off shore 400 miles. I would not go much farther than that.

The c350 was produced from 2003 - 2008 then replaced by the c355. A member in c34.org site who lived in Hawaii had friends from California deliver a new to her a c34. I'm sure catalinas in that size range have sailed many blue water miles. Sailing oceans with a gross weight under 9 tons can't be that great of a ride. YBYC good luck

The Catalina 350 is a good boat. The answer to your query is not necessarily the boat but the skipper and crew.

Let me provide you an analogy using a car.

How far would you chooses to drive an electric smart car? Would you drive it across the Mongolian desert or just around town? While you might be able to equip the smart car with the necessary equipment and supplies to make the trip you might find it less than rewarding.

Some boats are designed better to handle the elements to get you across an ocean safely. Others might also accomplish the task but it would be a battle and there is a greater chance that you might not survive if Mother Nature decides to seriously test your resolve.

Choose a boat that is designed to cross an ocean and you are more likely to have a positive experience.

I'm not talking about taking mine across an ocean. I'm just curious if it could do it. I've watched a couple sail a Beneteau 361 from England to New Zealand. I watched a young woman sail a 27 foot Grund (sp?) from Maine to the South Pacific. And, I've also seen these full keel boats sailed across the oceans and never did one of those skippers step of the boat and say "piece of cake". I'm just questioning the whole "you gotta have a Bluewater boat" premise.

Btw, the question was "how far has someone sailed around C350".
A better question may be has anyone crossed an ocean on a C350? Or perhaps, how long can a couple/family/solo sailor live on a 35' boat before going crazy?
