How do you lower the salon table in a 320

I just purchased a 320 model year 2000....and while I have been shoping for one for the last 8 months....not one broker/dealer has been able to show me how to lower the salon table to turn it into sleeping quarters. Even though I unscrew the set knob I'm not able to push the table down. Now I'm 6'2" tall and wheigh 225 lbs and can bench my weight and then some, yet I can not push hard enought to lower the table even with the set knob removed. I also can not pull the table up to remove it. Now I did see what looks like a small hole above the nob where you could push in wth a thin probe....is that what needs to happen? Or is every boat I looked at have a defective table ?

Same problem here.

Hey Mike ....I have the same problem on my 320.Have heard that you must push down evenly so as not to kink it ...or something like that...but I can't get mine to go down.Getting the table off is not quite as bad for me. Again try to pull up evenly, and give a bit of a twist as you do.Remember that the top has been jammed down by all the pushing to get it down...lol.There is a gas rod inside....like the ones that hold the back up on a hatch-back car. I think these things freeze up or seize up or something. Anyway one of these days I'm going to replace it...but then... I never make it up into a bed so.....who knows.

Table

Hi Mike, I also own a C320 model year 2000. I had trouble as well with the table but learned how to put it down. You have to put weight in the center directly above the lift and kinda shimmy and wagle it down. It is a great birth under way for lounging, playing backgammon ect. In fact we now always leave set up that way unless we are going to use the table for dinner. I, too, have had the same problem but just didn't care to worry about it much. Figured there was a "secret code" involved that I'd discover eventually.In a rough seaway, I've rested (sleep was not possible...) semi-upright on that settee very nicely braced by the table (don't have leecloths installed) to keep from visiting the bilge.--Ron
