How do you get to the 5 gal. fresh water tank for sink?

We just bought a 95 hunter 23.5 and not sure how to get to the fresh water tank hooked up to the pump sink. It needs to be cleaned, lots of black gunk inside. It almost looks like you have to unscrew part of the cabinet that covers it. Is there an easier access point that we're missing?

As I recall, my '93 23.5 came with a collapsable water jug that had a cap with a pour spout and valve built in. The hose fom the pump slipped over the pour spout and was secured with a hose clamp. Access was through the fold up counter on the aft side of the galley. When it got gross looking, I would simply buy a replacement fron the camping section at WalMart or Target.

I have since relpaced that system with a 6 gallon riged tank with a deck fill.

Thanks for the info, sounds like you had a similar tank/jug. I can also see it when I lift up the fold up counter, but can't tell how to get it out of there, it's covered up w/the same material the counter top is made of with a hole in the middle for the screw cap. I may just have to remove the screws on all for corners to remove the cover.

My 1996 23.5 has a hard plastic water tank. To get to it I had to remove the "shelf" that is under the sink. Their are several screws that hold up the shelf, the screws have little plastic covers and you can see them on the "outside" of the "wall". Once you have all of the screws off, and have disconnected the drain line, the shelf comes out.... take your time its a tight fit. The tank is now able to come out..... It only come out one way and is difficult to figure out.... If I remember I even took off the "folding shelf" to give me more room.

It will be a lot easier if you empty the tank first!!!! trust me.
