How do I run reefing line in boom?

I have a 1991 Hunter 28 and when I bought it the mast was off and reefing lines had been pulled out of the boom. I am not sure if the lines go straight through the boom or are routed through a pulley system. I have tried to use a fish tape to push/pull a reefing line through the boom and can get the tape through but not the tape w/ line attached. Can anyone tell me how to easily and properly install the reefing lines through the boom and rig them?

I used a fish tape to re do mine i pulled a smaller diameter line thru then sewed a flemmish eye on the reefing line and pulled it thru.
fish tapes can be had at lowes or homedepot in the electrical dept

near the gooseneck you may need to take out a bolt that holds the jam cleats in place, but you should be able to run a fish line through the boom.

You should have shive blocks on the end of the boom that the lines run though to go up the clew of the sail and through the reefing eye, and then from there the line goes down to a cleat installed under the boom that you can tie the reefing line to with a bowline.
