the lewmar single speed winches I have are mounted on 3 inch fairing blocks..... I can remove the blocks from the boat, but I am unfamilier with how to remove the winches from the fairing blocks..... do the winches have to come apart at the top snap-ring?

and how do i get photos to load as a thumbnail photo rather than a file link?

thank you......

You can download the service manual. Really easy to clean and service.

It looks like they probably used a sealent like 5200 or 4200 to seal the winch base to the blocks.

You don't have to remove the winch from the blocks unless you want to clean up the blocks. Then again you could clean up the blocks without removing the winch.

Good Luck

thanks for the reply and the link..... the blocks are glassed over wood and its all coming apart. I was thinking of redoing them out of starboard material....it will hold up to the weather and I have some 1 inch stuff that I can cut, then stack the pieces, then turn them to the diameter needed to remount the winches... but im always open to suggestions.:D
