How do I know what yanmar I have

I would like to know how I can tell if I have the sb8 or sb12 ? and does anyone sell the crank handle ?

No nameplate above the transmission? Hunter 27 Cherubini's had 8's. Could be a ysb8 or a ysm8. I believe Toad Marine sells a tool kit that would include the crank handle.

Most Yanmars have a model/serial plate mounted directly 'under' the area of the air intake.

Did you not look on the transmission end yet?. The nameplate on mine is above the transmission. Maybe it's painted over or removed.
