How do I keep the t-ball for the jib in place w?

I have a new H260, and when I place the Jib T-ball in the mast, and then raise the mast the Jib falls to the side until I move it around the spreader arm. In the process the T-ball turns side ways in the slot/holder. When I attach the jib to the bow and put in under stress the T-ball pops out and the jib falls to the deck. Can anyone tell me the method to placing it in the slot and then keeping it there. It is a new 2001 boat.I am looking for help. Have others had this problem and how have you solved it?

T bolt retainer

I ran into the same problem with my h-19 and solved it by taking a 1X2 inch piece of inner tube, folding it in half and insterting it into the space above the T bolt in the mast. If you wrap it over the tip of a small straight blade screw driver you can insert it somewhat like pluging a leak in a tubeless tire. Cut off the excess leaving about a quarter inch sticking out. I've been using this method for a while now with no problems. I understand Hunter (or Z Spar) has rubber plugs made for this but they may be hard to find and not nearly as econimical.

Mast Slot Plugs

Ditto on high cost and difficulty in finding replacement plugs. I found that the heavy duty tarp straps that truckers use to hold traps in place on flatbed trucks can be cut into short lengths (3/4") and hole punched on either side to form an "H" serve as an excellent plug. The lucky will find these broken straps along the road and have free plugs with a little work.

I've used corks with some success...

also had good luck with 'caps' from test tubes. They have a soft outer part and a solid core.
