How do i hook up a two bank battery charger

HI,
right now i have my charger hooked up to one battery. I want to connect two batteries in parallel to double my amphours capacity, while keeping the voltage at 12. So my batter charger is 2 bank, it has one ground cable and two positive cables. Do you consider two batteries connected in parallel one bank or two banks?

the booklet doesn't say, and i can't get a response from reya dolphins email or phone, and i can't see anything that addresses that in sailboat electrics by don casey.

Maybe to clarify on the out-put side of the charger which is two bank capable, there is one ground and two positives wires. If my two batteries are connected in parallel, how do i connect the charger?

I have two banks of one battery each

I have two batteries wired to an 1/2 or all switch. I wired the first to the one pole and the second to the two pole on the switch. I only did this because the poles were on the switch I installed. I allways have the switch in the all position when I use the boat in essence creating one bank consisting of two batteries. I only have a single battery charger but I use it all the time to charge my batteries together and I leave the switch in the all position.

If you are planing to use the second hot wire from your battery charger you will need to isolate the batteries when you charge them. There are many ways to wire the batteries, draw it out on a piece of paper so you have a clear understanding of the path the currents are going to follow.
