We own an 2007 Hunter 33. It has a Raymarine C70 and we're trying to find if it's wired for radar. We've reached out to Hunter, but they don't seem to think responding to enquires top on their priority list! Can anyone steer me in the right direction of where I should look and what it is I will be looking for. Thank you. Louise

Highly highly unlikely.

Hunter is a value-conscious builder. It is unlikely they would built a hugely expensive ($150) cable into the boat when it is unconnected and adds no value.

The only way that might happen is if the original owner spec'ed that as a custom option from the factory. If that was the case, you would be able to see it behind the plotter.

Just finished installing a Raymarine RD418D radome in my 2007 41DS to connect with an E120 MFD. There were no cables provided by Hunter even though the E120 was a factory install. Be aware that although the digital radome is backward compatible with the E120, I had a tough time getting the correct cables to connect the radome to the network. I suggest before you purchase anything, contact Raymarine and find out the correct cables & radome for your install. By the way the cables are not cheap!

It would be very hard to miss the heavy cable for radar for sure and as said radar is not something that is added at factory and I should know when ordering my new 2007 H-36 the dealer did install a lot of electronics and some raymarine was down below in boxes waiting to add by dealer

Not likely. I know mine does not. Hunter typically do not install the electronics. It's done by the dealer as each new buyer would want their own choice of instruments, chartplotter radar etc. and different manufacturers.

When we got our boat, 2nd owner, 2 years old I had wind instrument installed and it had to be run through the mast.

Radar is radio, which means you are looking for a radio transmission line. That looks nothing like a
Power line. What you are looking for looks more like a thick version of a cable tv cable than anything else. In fact it's the same thing just different specifications.

It's called dielectric cable, with a center pin and a shield which is connected to the nut of the connector. Again, it looks similar to cable tv cable. I am just using that as a reference because that's what most people are familiar with and its an accurate similarity.

Not really. All recent (10+ years?) radomes are digital, and use a relatively thin data cable between the dome and plotter. Some cables incorporate the domes's power and data cables into one unit, which makes them thicker, but they are not coaxial like a radio antenna cable.

Radar cable are sold with the dome. It is not sold with the displa. , If you do not have a dome chances are it is not prewire for radar. You can verified that by looking in the back of the display you will see the radar connecting, you can not miss it.

What Hunter does a nice job of is providing the chases to run cables, often with a line already installed to pull cables.
