headliner removal- I have a deck leak permitting water to run into the ceiling of the port head , located right at the stairwell. How can I remove the headliner to see where the water is coming into the boat?

Tool...

As I recall, there is a tool that allows the removal and install of the headliners for the 326. It has been a few years, but I had a picture of one e-mailed from Hunter, but was lucky enough to be able to borrow one from my dealer. It was a piece of 3/8" aluminum plate cut like a "C" if I remember right. You might try your dealer and see if they have one, or Hunter to see what they can do for you.

What's On Deck

What do you have on the deck above the head,is anything screwed on the deck like dodger fram. Maybe you just need to reseal any thing that is screwed into the deck,I had the snaps that are screwed into the deck get loose and come out. I resealed them all with something like Marine-Tex and they never came loose again. Nick

mounted on deck is a dodger

I sealed the fittings on the deck handrails, snap fittings for the dodger, and everything else There, I have to get that headliner off so I can follow the track of water getting in the ceiling and draining along the ceiling to the head area. I must come off- somehow- but how ??

Bubble test

Before going to all the trouble of removing the headliner, I would try less invasive techniques. You might want to search the Archives for the method of presurizing the boat and looking for bubbles on deck. I have never tried it but many swear by the technique. Briefly you put a leaf bower into the companionway, sealed with cardboard, then spray soapy water on deck.
