I have the flush deck waste pump out port and I can not get it lose. I have used oil and hammered around the plate but the black scre cap wont budge any suggestions. I cant get enough leverage with the cap key.

The same thing happened to me. The only solution I found, after using every advertised chemical to break the bond, was to replace the unit. It was an easy and inexpensive (less than $30) job. I took the waste line off from inside the boat and the went topside and 2 screws later the fitting was off. A ring of sealant, put the fitting back in the deck and the waste line back on from inside.

I have had the most success loosening stuck bolts and fittings by starting by applying Aerokroil (stray penatrant) to it and then giving the cap itself a good rap with a steel hammer. After giving it a good wack, then tighten the fitting first to try to break the corrosion or gooey “o” ring before trying to loosen it. The only thing you have to loose is nothing, because if you can’t get it loose you have to replace it anyway. Fair winds, Gerry

Gentile men and ladies, Come on now. We have learned that our seafairing mistresses are a gentile lot. "On my ship.... you shall not whack nor smack any of me lady's parts." Be gentile.... You know with a lady .. a kind word goes a long way. Same with the Lady we love to sail on. A chisel lodged lightly under most metal deckfittings,( that is if you are trying to remove the whole fitting) will give way to your persuasion in a short period of time. Given the gross misspellings and grammar that we see here(myself included) I hestitate to comment here. But spell check would not have caught R.W's gaff(gentile or "non-Jew"). Anyway in the context I think "genteel"(polite, well-bred) fits best. One trick I sometimes use is to write the response on WORD and use spell check there. Then cut and paste to here. But to the problem at hand. I agree with Stan, time to replace that fitting John. Probably needs rebedded anyway. I saw your boat on your website and it is too pretty to have old fittings!

Mine was Plastic
Couldn't get original black plastic cap out of alum. body as white Alum oxide completely froze up threads, bent keys & wrenches trying to break loose, ended up chiseling cap to pieces to remove & replacing.

I don't know if this will help in your case, but after 3 years I was pointed out that a standard winch handle fits well the key from the waist and water fittings in my boat. It makes a bid difference in the leverage you can create to open it.
