It's December... that time of year when most families begin to lobby for a holiday tree and a massive display of lights. Have you ever decked your halyards with boughs of holly? If you have, post your favorite holiday boat photos here; not just from this year, but any year. And while you're at it, vote in the Quick Quiz on the home page.

Speaking of PC

Andy Rooney said the same thing on 60 Minutes last night. Everything is 'Holiday' now. Not that I care. I'm a non-you-know-what. ;)

No, Ross

It's a Christmas Tree. If someone chooses not to participate in that idea, kewl. But, it's still a Christmas tree.

Participated for about five years

in the "Big Kahuna" the FT Lauderdale light parade in a friend's boat. We took 1st place twice in our class once for best theme and the other for best lights. This is a parade where a local entrepenaour charters a barge and brings a circus act and circus animals aboard. There are great parties and balls in the manssions all along the intracoastal. The party boats all come out with their dress lights. There are usually around 125 boats registered for the event. Anything from mega yachts to long canoes being rowed at the beat of drum. There are just as many boats anchored along the way and grandstands are filled to capacity around public areas. We had to have a minimum of 5,000 lights and we well exceeded that each time. One of our friends is a licensed electrician and he designed our installation by sections as not to overload circuits and breakers. A Honda 3000eu powered the display. The audio system was proffesional quality but we mostly kept it low to conserve power and our ear drums. A nice buffet and bar in the galley complemented the occasions.

Very nice!

Letterman, nice Christmas Tree! There's a bar in Baltimore that makes one out of Grand Marnier bottles. Of course we do our best to contribute to the empty bottles they need to build it. Who says putting up a tree isn't fun?
