O'Day 22 jib
Phil I have a 78 masthead 22 with the stock working jib and a genoa from an O'day 20 (they have the same mast.) The stock 22 genoa is Luff= 24 ft. Foot= 14.58 ft, Leech= 23.42 ft. The stock masthead 22 working jib is Luff= 22.42 ft. foot= 10 ft. Leech 19.42 ft. The stock genoa for the 20 which I have is Luff 24 ft. foot=13.08 ft. Leech= 23.08 ft. Even though my genoa is 1.5 ft shorter in foot than the 22 Oday, I think it is plenty. I use it often and am happy to have it. The boat will ghost along when there seems to be no wind at all. The cloth is standard 4.9 oz. dacron (same as stock Oday mains.) If I got a bigger genoa, It would be to go faster in very light airs and I would want a lighter material. I hope this is helpful.
