Blake Island State Park in Washington has a prolific raccoon population. They enter boats regularly to pillage.
Thankfully people warn new arrivals to keep things locked up. I've looked up to see a raccoon face looking down through the portlight at me.

Wow! That's quite a story you have to tell over the years!!! At least you are both laughing. Maybe there is one or more racoons floating face down in the water somewhere. Coffee beans and booze...amazing the racoon made it out the portlight to leave!

It's good that you see some humor in all this. I had a cat break in by pushing a screen through and then the feral thing did what cats do....mark their territory! What an ordeal getting rid of that odor. I was not as humored.

Great story. I'll have to share it. At least you can look back and laugh about it.

Never feed the ducks from the boat nor let them roost in the cockpit. The marina once called me and I came to keep a boat from sinking. The cockpit drains were clogged and water spilled over into the cabin. Seeing green globs of duck poo floating in the cockpit was hilarious but oh the stink was worse than a megafart. Pumped the water out of the cockpit and cabin. Had to break the lock to the cabin. Cleaned the boat and washed the cushions, clothing, wiping down and left everything to dry.

Owner came and saw the boat calling the police who then went to the marina office only to be advised of what I did. Came home that night and there was a case of Coors light sitting at the front door with a thank you. I never will forget that smell. Worse than a Kermit the Frog smell.

Wow...a case of Coors. He must have not appreciated it too much. Now a case of a good craft beer and we are in business! LOL

Those Raccoons must have been trashed like a Freshman at a Frat party. Coffee and alcohol. Hopefully they didn't crap all over the place inside of the boat.

I guess the biggest revenge thought would be the massive New Year's Day hangover that the raccoons had the next day.

It goes to show how appreciative people can be when you try to help.
My at the time, new neighbor built a structure in his back yard. When the inspector came out he asked for the survey. My neighbor didn't have one but he knew I just built a new garage so he asked if he could use mine hoping it would suffice. The inspector accepted it to show his set-back was compliant and he bought off the work. My neighbor was so grateful he brought over a case of Dos Equis.

Nice STORY But raccoons screwed the cap back on the liquor bottle, opened the tin cans with an opener -- don't think so!
But again nice, funny story

Forgot to say but 4 months later, owner of the duck poo boat decided to purchase a new 28 Beneteau from me and gave me keys to his boat to maintain should ever an issue arise again. In the contract, I made sure he signed no feeding the ducks from or near his boat. He agreed.

Looks like the raccoons picked up where teens or a homeless person left off.

There's probably a mention in there somewhere you're not suppose to feed the animals?

Tell me about it.... I was all excited to move to Charleston and now I'm here and can't afford a slip. The H26 takes a bit of time and stress to rig and launch. I'm thinking of moving back down to a quick launch gunkhole boat in the 21 to 22 foot range or maybe a compac 19
