House Battery Help in 361

My 4D house battery is located directly in front of the engine under the steps. It just barely fits there and I have not been able to find a box that will fit in the space to hold the battery. Unfortunately when any electrolyte leaks from the battery is goes directly in the bilge below and eats away at the gelcoat. Has anyone solved this problem?

Hi Matt, Same problem on my 331, I am planning to replace that crappy battery with an AGM type battery. Clean, no explosive vapurs, all good.

Remember to change the setting on your charger when you do that or you will fry it. You will also need to change the starting battery to AGM as well. Too expensive for me though!

I did some research and am going to try this Battery Mat product - absorbs and neutralizes battery acid. It can be ordered here inexpensively by the foot: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/battmat.php
Will report in how it works for other with the same problem.

Get some of those caps that capture and return vapors to the battery cell.

Looked into those, but they don't fit the holes in my Dyno 4D.
