House batteries switch not turning DC panel on?

I might not be understanding the problem completely, but do know that old master switches can fail. Even the hardy 1-2-all switches sometimes reach the end of their life.
Even new master switches fail. One night sitting on anchor with a broken transmission, suddenly all the lights went out. A Blue Seas Dual Contact Plus, just fell apart sitting there. There we were no power, no lights in a roadstead anchorage, with the beer getting warm. Called Blue Seas and first they said sorry, then where can we send you a new one?

1) what boat model and year?
2) this would have come up in the survey, any hints there?
3) can you post a photo of the battery switch panel?
4) can you post a photo of the back of the battery switch panel?
5) with only the house switch on, does the engine start?
6) the chart plotter probably loose power when the engine start cause they are powered (incorrectly) from the same battery. Is your parallel switch always on?
7) Do you know how your boat charges both banks with the alternator? Is there an acr, dc-dc charger, or other device?

You know, these kind of online diagnostic sessions are frustrating, like the recent guy with the water leak, in that the OP fails to answer questions, fails to fully identify the system, fails to supply an electrical or plumbing schematic, and so on. How can you help them? We're just shooting in the dark.

True, OK as long as we do not hit each other! :)
And, after a while most folks will figure out that providing maximum info around their question, starting with a complete Sig Line, and extending to photos, WILL help strangers on the 'net provide them with useful information.
