Looking for a hotel on the night before we get our charter boat from the Sunsail base at Oyster Pond.

If course we left this to the last minute.

Any suggestions?

You could always stay aboard the first night if the boat was available. Kinda nice
to unpacked and get supplies aboard the day before you leave.

We spent the first night on board (Horizon). Got there early and went shopping for provisions.
Took a few nights at the end staying at Mary's Boon. Right on the beach and close to the airport. http://www.marysboon.com/
And if you stay at Mary's Boon, stroll down the beach and have a topas from Karacter (a school bus converted to a beach side kitchen).

On the beach, Dutch side, in Phillipsburgh(sp) is Holland House Beach Hotel. Looks out on the harbor where 12 Meter Americas Cup Boats are moored. You can sail on Dennis Connors' "Blue" Boat, New Zealand's boat, and/or 2 others I believe. Nice place with lots going on all around it. Google HHBH.com

I have never stayed in St Martin but for BVI, St Vincent, and Antiqua I looked through Frommers, and the tourism sites, and have had good luck booking shore accommodations. Sunsail will probably make you spend a night aboard before you leave anyway. They seem to always make the skippers meeting late enough that you really don't sail until the next day.
