When plugged into to shore power, I cannot find a breaker to shut off the hot water tank. Is it ok to be on all the time? Or should I install a on/off switch?

It only needs to be on from 15-30 minutes to heat the six gallons of water. Find the heater. There are three A.C. wires coming from it to its power source. Trace the wires and find out where they go. They could very well be wired into your receptacles if you don't have a separate switch. Yes, it should have an I/O switch of its own.

On my boat it is a pop out circuit breaker located near the AC power switch. It is white and doesn't look anything like the DC panel on off switches. Look in the AC area of your power panel.

Thanks, I am interested to shut off the water heater when AC power is on. I see the pop out breaker, just wondering why the water heater would continuously on unless needed. I guess I have to install an on/off toggle.

Just push it in and it will pop out. That will turn it off. I only turn mine on for 30 mim or so in the AM or during dinner to wash dishes with. We use the dock side showers when plugged into shore power.
