hot water tank replacement

how do i replace a hot water heater through the lazarette when the opening is'nt large enough to remove the old one let alone install the new one, short of cutting the glass?

On our boat the lazarette is assembled with screws. Lots of screws. Hopefully this is the case for you. Take some pictures as you go. It's handy to have them days or weeks later when you put things back together.

I had a 1980 H30 and replaced the lazarette water heater through the seat hatch. On some Hunters of that era, there was a removeable panel on the sole of the cockpit, just forward of the pedestal. It gave access to the rear of the engine, the batteries and the fuel tank, and also to the side of the lazarette compartment.

thanks for the lead steve, isotherm does have one that will fit. only it costs 4x what i was looking at! oh well
