If you have a 2000 or newer boat and are having trouble making hot water while motoring please let me know. I'd like to know what engine you have and what brand of water heater. Pat McCartin Inland Marine Diesel kd4yor@hotmail.com

Neither.

I have neither a newer boat nor trouble making hot water. But I weighed in anyway. Do you know for certain that you are circulating hot water from the engine through the tank? You should be able to very carefully feel the hoses that lead from the heat exchanger to the tank and back. If both in and out are very warm then the water at the faucets should get warm if not hot. If 'in' is warm and the return hose is not then you have a tank problem. If neither is warm then clogged hoses or a heat exchanger problem. . .maybe. This all assumes that your engine is up to temp.

Ed,

I fully understand how to diagnose and fix the problem. I'm trying to build a list of other people with this problem so I can address the manufacters. I've noticed that several newer boats are having the same problem. Pat
