For those who have Origo boat stoves on board with the canisters: As you know, alcohol is very expensive these days and it evaporates very fast in hot weather if you leave that little round rubber canister cover off for too long or completely forget to insert it back while you were waiting for the canister to cool. My suggestion is to use a cold damp cloth to cool off the canister or canisters as soon as you shut off the flame. If your stove doesn't stay open, you'll need to make a special stick to hold it open. When the canister is cool enough to the touch, put the rubber cover back on and leave the stove open until it cools off. I use a small stainless steel plate to weight the rubber cover down, but you can use just about anything you like. When the upper part of the stove has cooled down, you can remove the weight and the stick, and close it back up. This will undoubtedly save on boat stove alcohol.
