I was recently given a Horseshoe bouy. In addition to needing to be cleaned, the area where the previous boat's name was painted (paint has already been removed) is still visible. What is the best way to do a deep cleaning to return the houseshoe bouy to a nice white color? What is the best way to apply my boat's name (stensil, paint, peel and stick)? Thanks.

Turn It Over

It'd probably as clean as you can get it, but I have seem this many times and what the new owner has done is to turn it over to the "cleaner" side and had the name repainted there.

Both Sides have been used

Does anyone know if a scrub brush and 50% bleach and 50% water will damage the plastic coating on the horseshoe? Are there other cleaners that will get down to the clean white color?

Won't hurt it but

50% bleach is over kill. Too much bleach might turn it yellow try 25% and leave it out in the sun for a while. then get some stick on letters and put your boat name on it. That is all anyone will see.

I've had great luck ...

Painting them with white rustoleum ... takes a week to cure but lasts for years. vic
