Big difference from the horrible winter and spring. Beautiful weather in NJ on the coast....excepting the dock menaces!

I had a great day today sailing with the Master Mariners. A sail boat race on San Francisco bay.

I had a great day around Solomons MD. It was my first solo after having the boat for three years. Leaving the slip was easy. Coming back in after 31 miles or so, rudder cables came off the quadrant - couldn't get them back on in the chop caused by 20+ knots of wind out of the east (not south as the weather guessers predicted). Broke out the emergency tiller and made my way to the slip.

Normally, I reverse in to my slip, but using the emergency tiller made me decide to go bow in. Wind carried me past my slip, but I managed to reverse in to a slip on the opposite side. Got some help from the marina to tie up, then fixed the cables. Ended up in my slip after all!

Going out again today - but with 2 crew. Hope all enjoy the weekend. Remember, freedom isn't free.
