I'm hoping someone can help me figure out how to tighten the head stay. Boat has a Hood Roller Furler installed around 1996. I can't seem to get access to the turnbuckle which I believe to be covered by the furler drum. I took the sail down and tried to figure out a way to slide the drum up or down to get access to the turnbuckle but couldn't figure out how to do it. Of course the boat is in the water and I don't want to experiment to much and fumble an important part into the drink.

Thanks,

Dave

Dave,
I'm not familiar with the Hood Roller furler, but my CDI has a pin the connects the plastic luff to the top of the furler drum. By removing that pin, the drum slides up over the luff and exposes the turnbuckle.

Joe,

I wish mine was that simple. I called Hood and they explained what to do. Its seems awefully complicated but I will give it a try this weekend. Thanks for checking in.
